![]() ![]() Today the evolution of the Internet paradigm to Web 2.0 provides online tools that not only support the gathering of information but facilitate the production of information as well (Bottentuit & Coutinho, 2009). Far beyond the blackboards and chalk of ‘olden days,’ an earlier generation of learning technologies like overhead projectors, tape recorders and cassettes and CDs, and more recently the proliferation of technologies like LCDs, interactive whiteboards, and laptop computers have significantly changed the possibilities for learning that can happen in the classroom. Technology plays an increasingly important role in language teaching and learning. Flash cards also can make the students to be open minded in learning vocabulary. The use of flash cards in teaching vocabulary is easier to be understood and remembered by the students. Then, in this research, the writer uses flash cards as a media to learn vocabulary in a fun way. Sometimes, some of students said learning and mastering vocabulary is not as easy as it looks. ![]() ![]() Vocabulary is one of the important things to be learnt by anyone who wants to learn a language especially for young learners. In her research, the writer uses qualitative and quantitative method to analyze the data. The writer also explains about student’s enthusiasm and student’s responses about teaching vocabulary through flash cards. Besides, the teacher discusses the evaluation that she got around teaching vocabulary through flash cards and the last in the result. Then, the writer explains about the student’s role, teacher’s role in the class. ![]() The writer discuss about the procedure of teaching vocabulary through flash cards. In this paper, the writer discusses about teaching-learning process using flash cards as a media in 5th grade of elementary school.
